Landscapes of the Sea
This is where the land ends. From here you can only look back or see the wide horizon of the sea. The ever-changing water of the ocean is reminiscent of the deeper emotional states of human experience.
During all the journeys to the sea, this metaphor remained in my mind that the waters of the oceans flow into each other and are connected with each other:
everything is connected with everything.
I was inspired by the 19th century seascapes, especially William Turner’s paintings.
I first began to photograph protected coastal sections. At the same time I photographed the body of work „Finis terrae“: Photographs of the ‚ends‘ of the land and the ways to these places along the coast. These photographs are now partially integrated into this series.
I am currently working on this series with a slighty different focus – so stay tuned and come back here from time to time to see new seascapes.
