Commissioned Portraits

I took the photographs for the exhibition “If Found Please Return to Lagos” at the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden for the Nigerian artist Emeka Ogboh. He brewed the dark beer ‘Sufferhead Original’ especially for the occasion – at the same time, a commercial was filmed at the Casino Baden-Baden and portraits were taken for the campaign, which were displayed as large posters in the exhibition. Migration is Emeka Ogboh’s theme, and so the protagonists of the art project were people of African heritage living in the city of Baden-Baden and the surrounding area.

Why we need nature – to mark the 20th anniversary of GEO Nature Day, I took portraits of people who are committed to conserving and caring for nature. I photographed the subjects at various locations across Germany – as well as the landscapes in which they are active.

On the anniversary of GEO’s Nature Day in Hamburg, we took spontaneous portraits of people for whom nature conservation is a matter close to their hearts and who were out and about that day or had shown an interest in nature conservation projects.
To this end, we set up a mini-studio with a backdrop at various locations across Hamburg, where we took portraits of and interviewed people.

Before the World Cup, I photographed the team behind the German national football team for Lufthansa Magazine. It’s a series of portraits that I still really like today.

Portraits I had photographed for the book project “Der Traum von anderen Wohnen”.
