Portraits from the world of economics
Photographs on assignment for various magazines, companies and foundations, published in interviews, annual reports, brochures, books and at trade fairs.
Portraits for magazines are usually created within a few minutes. There is rarely enough time for alternative images. SAP founder Hasso Plattner left me exactly 59 seconds for his portrait after an interview for Manager Magazin – my record so far. When it comes to planning the image concepts for corporate communication, there is significantly more time.

My Biggest Mistake
“My Biggest Mistake” is one of the best-known sections of Impulse magazine. It presents entrepreneurs who look back on their lives and talk about bitter wrong decisions and personal mistakes. The interviews are accompanied by black-and-white portraits against a white background. Always with serious facial expressions.
Workers’ Portraits
The Workers’ Portraits were taken in the Aker-Wirth factory halls in Erkelenz and on an oil rig near Stavanger. The idea was to show people in the context of their workplace – not whilst they were working, but captured as individuals with strong personalities.
Business magazines
I have photographed numerous start-ups for many business magazines, alongside established players such as Telekom. Over the years, I have produced numerous feature articles for KfW Bank and other clients.
